Your first thought about the current situation?
Incredible task for many companies and people who live in domestic violence or in 3rd world countries. But for us "privileged ones" an incredible opportunity to slow down and finally have time with and for ourselves. Nature regenerates and hopefully you can question and, if necessary, change some things in your life.
Your 3 ultimate tips to use the current time for something good?
- Cleanse - you and your environment. Nature does it, you are part of it! When your life is in chaos, be it in the basement, the apartment, or in your relationships with yourself or others, then you cannot go out into the world at your best. Create order and cleanse your surroundings, the environment and your own thoughts.
- Take the time to build good routines that will help you find yourself. This is the perfect time to thread beautiful rituals. Whether it's meditation, yoga, other sports, breathing exercises, daily reading or something completely different, now is the time to integrate them into your routine. You will be more focused, balanced, energetic and happier.
- Try new things. Have you always wanted to learn an instrument, take the online course or start a juice cleanse? Here we go.
What does sustainability mean to you?
Not to continue to exhaust the earth's resources, but to continue working with all the goods that we have already worked on. Recycle or upcycle. And generally use less. Quality before quantity!
When and why did you start living more sustainably?
Especially in the last year. I did a fasting retreat and a low-toxic living workshop there, which made me realize how many harmful substances are in all our everyday products. The products were first emptied and replaced with decent ones. The topic of microplastics and plastic packaging for detergents, cleaning supplies, shower and care products has gained a completely different focus for me. I also started eating vegan and that goes hand in hand for me. A plastic-free month followed and since then there have been small changes in everyday life, step by step, to live more and more forgiving and in harmony with our earth.
The best decision you've made in your life so far?
Embark on my healthy and conscious lifestyle. You always have to step out of your comfort zone to see what great things are possible beyond that.
Action or Hang Loose?
Which celebrity would you like to have a candlelight dinner with?
Leonardo di Caprio or Eckhart Tolle.
What does water as a resource mean to you?
Life, the essence of life!
3 easy tips to make your everyday life more sustainable?
Separate rubbish, avoid plastic packaging, use bicycles or feet, light candles, unplug from the sockets, always have a bag and water bottle with you.
Are you the “sofa activist” type?
I'm interested in life and making mine the best I can, but I still have a long way to go to become an activist... I love to learn and share. I find stagnation and too much comfort lazy, cowardly, selfish. .. fuck it!
Climate neutrality is on everyone's lips right now - do you pay attention to your CO2 footprint?
I've always made up for my flights and don't have a car, I hardly ever take the train or similar, preferring to walk or ride my bike. Nevertheless, there are a lot of flights in my job, I really hope that the current situation will change that and that almost everything will be produced locally in the future.
Which headline would you like to read in the future?
Animal domestication banned!
What impact do you want to leave in the world?
Motivating people to be their best, happy and mindful.
What is your social media plan B?
So much. I already do a lot besides social media. I love to cook and bake, will definitely continue to collect recipes and possibly publish a next book, maybe even create something of my own in order to show people how delicious and varied healthy things can be. I also want to continue to deepen yoga, possibly do retreats or eventually have my own yoga school.
The ultimate must-dos in Hamburg?
Alsterrun, trips to the forest or Lüneburg Heath, for example, sunset stand-up paddle.
What question should we have asked you?
What/who inspires me the most and why.
Oh, and of course, congratulations on the engagement from us too! Last question: type "My big fat greek wedding" or "elope"?
Oh thanks! I'll keep it as small as possible, but with a Greek family some people come together and I don't miss a day (or weekend) with my loved ones, feasting, laughing, dancing.
